Emergency First Aid Training Course

This HSE approved 1 day training course replaces the former ‘Appointed Person’ course and is suitable for employers who have identified a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work in their First Aid Needs Assessment.

The focus of this course is on preventing situations from becoming worse and learning the vital life saving skills that a trained Emergency First Aider can use until help arrives.

Our instructor’s deliver dynamic courses that relate the subjects being taught to real life situations, which makes our training more applicable to your first aid. Because of the wide spread availability of this course, it has also become a popular option for anyone requiring basic first aid training for variety situations outside the workplace.

Assessment and Certification

Students are continuously assessed throughout the day.

Emergency First Aid at Work certificates are valid for three years and Ila Training Scotland will send an automatic reminder to both the customer and Emergency First Aid Student three months prior to the expiry date of the certificate.

Certificates can be renewed by attending a 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work training course. The Health & Safety Executive recommends that all Emergency First Aid at Work students attend the annual 3 hour refresher course
, to ensure that they are up to date with procedures and do not lapse into the fade period.

HSE Emergency First Aid at Work

The Ila Training one day emergency first aid at work training course is designed to last for 6 hours and complies with the legal requirements of Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The course content can be tailored to the clients needs. The course consists of mainly practical work in the following areas:
  • Priorities of First Aid
  • First aid equipment
  • Duties of a First Aider
  • Actions in emergencies
  • Basic Life Support & CPR
