Paediatric First Aid Training



Ila Training presents the paediatric first aid training course which is ideal for primary and nursery school teachers, child minders and child careers. It is a highly practical and fun course which:
  • meets the criteria defined for first aid training in the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework
  • meets Ofsted first aid requirements for registered childminders and the requirements for first aid for nannies under the Department for Children, Schools and Families Approved Carers Scheme.
  • can be used as evidence for employees working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.
All attendees will leave with both a full set of paediatric first aid skills and the confidence to put them into practice should the need ever arise. Certificates are valid for 3 years. 

There are no pre-requisites to attend this course.

Course Content

  • A systematic approach to incident management
  • Infant, Child and Adult Resuscitation procedures
  • Choking
  • Bleeding - internal/external, major/minor
  • Shock - hypovolemic and anaphylactic
  • Hypothermia and hyperthermia
  • Febrile convulsions
  • Treating Damage - suspected fractures, head, neck and back injuries
  • Eye injuries and foreign bodies in eyes, ears and noses
  • Bites and stings
  • Poisoning
  • Burns and scalds
  • Electric shock
  • Common illness - epilepsy, asthma, sickle cell anaemia, diabetes
