Anaphylaxis First Aid Training Course

During this 2 hour course, Ila Training will guide you through and help you focus on the typical triggers of anaphylaxis. The training course will give knowledge on early recognition of the associated signs and symptoms of a severe life threatening allergic reaction. You will discuss and formulate a plan from the lesson plan in how to manage an anaphylactic reaction and the early use of the individual's Epipen.

  

As well as your ongoing professional development have you considered your legal requirements under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. You will need to carry out a first aid needs assessment to determine what level of cover you require.


Anaphylaxis Awareness Course Summary

This course is designed for those requiring the knowledge and skills in the recognition and treatment of anaphylaxis and how to use the epi-pen.

The course is composed of three sections:
  1. 1. Recognising the signs and symptoms of Anaphylaxis
  2. 2. Identifying Anaphylaxis from other medical conditions
  3. 3. Treatment of Anaphylaxis including the use of the Epi-Pen
Content

The Course content conforms to the Health and Safety Executive approved legislation. It is recommended that Resuscitation (CPR) training be completed in conjunction with this course.

  1. Defining anaphylaxis
  2. Causes of anaphylaxis
  3. Signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis
  4. Differentiating anaphylaxis from other conditions
  5. Treatment for anaphylaxis including Epi-Pen training
Certification

Ila Training Scotland will issue an Approved Certificate for the Anaphylaxis Training on completion of attendance which is valid for 12 months.
